A Canadian woman died Thursday after a minivan struck her on Interstate-15 near Willard Bay in Box Elder County. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that 61-year old Patricia Prokopopetz of Hinton, Alberta and her husband had stopped their vehicle on the shoulder of northbound 1-15 to attend to a diabetic problem her husband was having. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden says while they were parked the woman decided she wold take a photo of Willard Bay. She took a camera and ran across the northbound lanes of I-15 and was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when a minivan in the fast lane struck her. She was airlifted to an area hospital where she died.
