Local businesses coming together to help entrepreneurs

Several local businesses are reaching out on Friday, March 5th to help businesses get started in developing countries. Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business SEED program, which stands for Small Enterprise Education and Development, helps people in developing countries begin and improve their own businesses. Those donating a percentage of their profits to the SEED Program this Friday include Domino’s Pizza, McDonald’s (all Cache Valley locations), Hamilton’s, Cafe Sabor, Kamin Thai Cuisine, Aqua Tech Car Wash, and S.E. Needham Jewelers. Students involved with the SEED program go to such countries as Uganda and Peru and act as a last-resort bank in helping entrepreneurs start a business that helps bring them out of poverty. Among the businesses already started are a bakery, a guinea pig farm and a mini-market.
