Student club looks to meet the challenge

Student athletes at Utah State University are teaming up with The HURD, the huge group of students that support student athletes, to brighten the life of a local family. The groups want to give back to the community through a one-day home renovation project on April 10.Amy Crosbie, Assistant Director of Student Athlete Services at USU, says nominations are being taken right now.”I’m sure there’s many people who need our help and could really benefit from our services in renovating a home,” Crosbie said on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday. “Whether it be anything from tile to carpet to appliances.Crosbie explained that nothing can happen until a family is formally nominated and selected. “Once we identify our family we’ll be able to identify our sponsors, our donors, and the things that we can get for that family. “Whenever you ask for nominations like this is you’re going to get quality nominations and it’s going to be a hard decision.”Crosbie says people can nominate a family they feel is deserving or can nominate themselves.
