Former North Logan Mayor Val Potter is getting back into politics. Potter says he plans to run for Cache County Council in the Northeast District. Potter wants to replace outgoing councilmember Bryan Chambers, the only Democrat on the Council. Potter says he does not believe the issues the Cache County Council deals with are partisan issues. He has several priorities if he is elected and one of the most important has to do with transportation.”It’s not always the most popular thing to talk about,” Potter said on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, “but I think the future of the valley really depends upon some great north, south, east, west corridors to move traffic back and forth. I think about what’s going to happen here in the valley in 20, or 30, or 40, years and if we don’t make some really positive steps right now we’re really going to be in trouble.”Potter said he believes his past experiences working with the county and other cities will be helpful if he is elected. The filing period opens Friday, March 12 and continues through Friday, March 19.
