Republican U.S. Senator Bob Bennett is continuing to attract Republican challengers. On Monday, Mike Lee and Tim Bridgewater filed to seek the Republican nomination. They join David Chiu and Leonard Fabiano, who filed last week. Scott Bradley of North Logan has also filed to run against Bennett on the Constitution Party ticket.State Senator Lyle Hillard, R-Logan, is managing Bennett’s campaign in Cache County and says he sees Bennett as a real conservative.”I support him because I think that he is a conservative, that he is able to handle these issues in a way that we want them handled,” Hillyard says. “I am concerned in sending somebody back who has never had any real experience in Congress, exactly where they’re going to be. “I think that practical business experience that Senator Bennett’s had is really important.” Hillyard says anyone running for a national office this year will have a real challenge because there is such a mood of frustration among the people.
