SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – A plot of land near the Salt Lake City International Airport is being used in a pilot project to develop new fuel sources. The project is a partnership between several groups, including Utah State University, Salt Lake County and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The groups want to grow material that can be converted into biodiesel. The project is also a way to explore new ways to use solids generated by wastewater treatment. Construction was scheduled to begin Monday southwest of the airport.
