Utah’s entire congressional delegation is urging President Barack Obama to reconsider his decision to cancel NASA’s Constellation project and Ares rocket.In a letter to the president on Tuesday, Senators Bob Bennett and Orrin Hatch, along with Congressmen Rob Bishop, Jim Matheson and Jason Chaffetz, requested that President Obama reconsider his decision to transfer funds from the Constellation program to faulty private industry technologies, a move Bishop says would end the U.S. global leadership in space and missile defense. Additionally, Bishop says canceling the NASA manned space component would put over 30,000 Americans out of work, including more than 2500 in Utah alone.
