For those wanting to file for an office this election year Friday is the last day to do so. You can file in the office of Cache County Clerk Jill Zollinger up until 5 p.m. There were six new filings Thursday, including Democrat Sam Granato who filed to challenge incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Bob Bennett. Locally, Teresa Theurer, former state school board member who is now a member of the State Board of Regents, became the second candidate running to replace outgoing District Four State Representative Fred Hunsaker. Former Cache County Republican Party Chairman Dave Butterfield filed for the seat on Wednesday. Constitution Party candidate David J. D’Addaboo filed for County Executive, challenging incumbent Lynn Lemon. Lynn Green of Nibley filed for Cache County School Board member challenging incumbent Jon Jenkins. Those currently running unopposed for seats: -Rob Bishop, U.S. Congress District 1 -Jack Draxler, State Representative District 3 -Peter Knudsen, State Senate District 17 -Val Potter, Cache County Council Northeast District -Craig Petersen, Cache County Council Logan Seat #3 -Gordon Zilles, Cache County Council Southeast District -Kathleen Howell, Cache County Assessor -James Swink, Cache County Attorney -Tamra Stones, Cache County Auditor -Jill Zollinger, Cache County Clerk -Lynn Nelsen, Cache County Sheriff -Karen Jeppesen, Cache County Treasurer -Kristie Cooley, Logan City School Board District 1 -James Blair, Logan City School Board District 5 -Allen Grunig, Cache County School Board District 5 Friday morning Mindy Hoopes filed to run for Cache County School Board District 7, the seat currently held by Anthony Hall. At the time of this publication Hall had not yet filed to run for re-election.
