Sky View lacrosse teams fare well in pre-season tournamet

According to an email received from Marnie Jeppson, the pre-season Beet Digger Tournament turned out to be very successful for both Sky View Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. Both teams advanced to the semifinal rounds winning three out of four games. The JV team played West Jordan on Friday with a 4-1 win; Brighton on Friday, winning 9-2; and, Lone Peak on Saturday winning 9-1. The Sky View JV team then tied their last game against Alta in the semifinal round. As Alta had the first goal, they were declared the winner and moved on to the finals. That tie ended the JV’s 20-game winning streak. The Varsity team started off Friday’s games against Spanish Fork, beating them 6-3. Sky View Varsity played West Jordan Friday evening, winning that game 7-2. They started off Saturday morning with a physical game against Weber, winning 7-4. The Varsity then went on to the semifinals against Lone Peak, where they fought a tough team. They lost 8-6. Regular season play starts Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. against Olympus at Sky View High School. For more information, photos and team rosters, visit www.skyviewlax.org.
