Petersboro teen killed in Weber County crash

A Petersboro teenager reportedly was died Wednesday from injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash in Weber County Tuesday evening.Wayne Torrie, 16, died at the University of Utah hospital Wednesday at about 6 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol officials said. Torrie was driving in Weber County Tuesday around 6:45 p.m. when the crash happened.According to various media reports, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a Chevy Suburban that matched the description of the vehicle Torrie was driving, and a deputy in Weber County attempted to stop the vehicle Torrie was driving. Torrie reportedly didn’t stop and sped away, crashing the vehicle into a field. Torrie was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.The cause of the crash and details as to why Cache County officials were looking for a vehicle were unavailable Wednesday night.
