Unemployment rate up in Logan, but still lowest in state

Local unemployment is on the rise.The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the unemployment rate went from 5.2 percent to 5.7 percent between January and February of 2010 in the Logan Metropolitan area, an increase of 4.4 percent.Although it is the highest unemployment rate in many years, the area’s rate was the lowest of five metropolitan areas. The unemployment rate for Utah for February was 7.8 percent for the month of February. In January, the rate was 7.4 percent.
