Jessop will be guest conductor for Choirfest

Craig Jessop, the newly named Dean of the Utah State University Caine College of the Arts, will be the guest conductor for the Cache Childrens Choirfest with a performance on Wednesday, April 21 starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Kent Concert Hall of the Chase Fine Arts Center.The Caine School of the Arts is hosting the concert. Admission is free and open to the public. Under Jessop’s direction, the voices of the Cache Childrens Choir will be joined by those from pubic school programs. Energetic 4th and 5th graders from Cache County will entertain during the concert with a program that features songs from around the world. Closer to home, the concert includes a performance of a song written especially for the children’s choir by local composer Jay Richards entitled “My Blessed Canyon Home.”
