The Cache Community Food Pantry is bursting at the seams. Pantry Director Matt Whittaker says there was a need for a larger building even before the economic downturn hit. Whittaker says since then the number of people served has greatly increased and there is a serious need for more room. He says that could be either an expansion of the existing property or the purchase of a different building.”That’s up in the air right now” he says, “but it’s got to happen. It’s always been on our wish list, but now it’s on our needs list. “The pantry has always tried to be self-sufficient with what we receive from the community, as far as donations, but there is no way we can do a project of this size without appealing to some major organizations.”Whittaker says he is very grateful for the $100,000 grant recently received through Logan City from the Community Development Block Grant.
