<strong>Shooting</strong>
Parent and Coach Aaron Cranney reports that we have another State Shooting Champ from Cache Valley. The State Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) was held in Salt Lake City on Friday and Saturday at the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range. This hosted youth up through age 19. They participated in eight events, four shooting (3D archery, 22 rifle, Muzzleloader and Sporting Clay Shotguns) and four responsibility events (Orienteering, Wildlife ID, Safety Trail and Written Exam). This was a state wide competition with participants coming from all over the state including Vernal, St George, Richfield, Salt Lake and, of course, Cache Valley. We had 21 youth from Cache Valley compete and 9 of the top 10 spots in the senior division (15 – 19 years old) were from our Cache Valley Team. Senior Division: 1st Bretton Cranney – Paradise 2nd Cody Hatch – Nibley 3rd Marshall Bassett – Wellsville 4th Heidi Reeder – Wellsville 5th Ty Anderson – Paradise 6th McKayden Hammond – Hyrum 7th Kassidee Dunford – Mt Green 8th Moncia Cook – Pleasant View 9th Kayden Price – Millville Junior Division: 3rd Riley Blanchard – Millville 4th Josh Dunford – Kaysville 5th Braden Cook – Pleasant view We are extremely proud of these youth and have watched them work hard since January to prepare for this event. They will now be going to Manfield, Pennsylvania in July to compete nationally. We appreciate the many hours that parents and coaches have put in to help make these youth successful and represent Cache Valley so well.
