Important training is available for students and professionals looking to develop their skills in leadership and communication. Professors of communication at Utah State University will launch their first workshop Monday, May 10 – Wednesday, May 12. The seminar will be held at the Eccles Conference Center on campus. The price for the professional learning and development seminars for students is $399 and $599 for professionals. This year, all participants can register at the student price. Registration prices include all materials, a workbook, lunch, snacks, and a certificate of completion. Matt Sanders said, “It is important for Cache Valley to have local access to this type of professional development. Through the Eccles Conference Center, we can offer this program well below market value. You won’t find this kind of training at this price that is taught by highly qualified scholars anywhere.” There will be two seminars offered in May. Sanders said one seminar will focus on leadership communication and the ability to create and maintain strong, positive relationships that will enable people to meet their personal and professional goals. It will also allow people to more effectively help others succeed, regardless of position in an organization. The seminar will highlight two specific aspects of leadership communication: building relationships and managing conflict. Sanders said the second seminar will focus on intercultural communication and the ways in which cultural difference influence personal and professional interactions, both domestically and internationally. In addition, the seminar examines how American culture is understood and received in other countries in order to enable participants to navigate international work relationships and volunteer experiences with tact and sensitivity. The Institute for Communication and Leadership is a learning and development organization dedicated to the instruction of communication theory and practice. Our mission is to provide Utah State University and its surrounding communities with access to high quality, affordable learning and development seminars to strengthen individuals, families, and organizations.Visit communication.usu.edu to register for the upcoming seminars, or for more information contact Matt Sanders at email@example.com.
