Officers make arrests in burglary ring; more expected

Cache Valley law enforcement officials have arrested two men and expect to arrest up to seven more in connection with a string of burglaries dating back to February.Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Matt Bilodeau said Tuesday that his agency has arrested Matt Roberts, 20 of Hyrum, and Ryan Clark, age unknown, on several felony charges. Roberts is facing charges of burglary and theft and Clark is accused of receiving stolen property. The charges stem from reports of five Hyrum burglaries, and other burglaries in Richmond, River Heights, Wellsville and Nibley. The burglary reports were from between February 11 and April 14. Bilodeau said Logan City Police were also investigating several related incidents in Logan, but a representative with the LCPD did not immediately return calls.”This is the result of good old fashioned law enforcement,” Bilodeau said of the arrests. He also noted that there might be additional victims in the valley, and if there are, they should contact law enforcement.Items stolen in the reported incidents included computers, audio equipment, tools, iPods and jewelry. Bilodeau said that in total between $20,000 and $30,000 worth of property had been stolen in the county.
