David Butterfield will be the Republican nominee for Utah House District 4, and the incumbent representative from District 2 was ousted Saturday.The District 4 was left vacant after Rep. Fred Hunsaker announced he would not seek another term. Butterfield and Teresa Theurer were vying for the nomination. At the Utah State Republican Convention in Salt Lake City Saturday, Butterfield received 77.5 percent of delegate votes, well over the 60 percent needed to secure a nomination without the need of a primary election.Butterfield will face Democratic challenger Gilberto Urroz in the November election.In the race for the House District 2 nomination, incumbent Ben Ferry was challenged at convention by Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry. Perry edged Ferry 60.3 percent to 39.7 percent to clinch the Republican nomination for the office.
