Four Logan teenagers could face felony vehicle theft and drug charges in connection with a joyride to Las Vegas last week.Logan Police are investigating possibly criminal charges against two teenager boys and two teenager girls in connection with a report of a stolen vehicle that was taken to Las Vegas last week, Logan Assistant Police Chief Jeff Curtis said.”There was a group of four juveniles that had taken a parent’s car and decided to go to Las Vegas,” Curtis said. “Through our investigation we were given some information which led us to believe that they were headed in that direction.”Curtis said that police put out information to other agencies that the the car the high school-aged kids were in was stolen, and the group of teens were picked up last week in Las Vegas, Curtis said. “They were taken in to custody and put in juvenile detention facilities until the parents could go pick them up and the car was towed to a safe towing location until the car could be picked up as well,” Curtis said.Curtis indicated that investigation of the case was still active and more charges could be coming against members of the group. There were some indications that marijuana was involved as well, Curtis said.Teens taking a vehicle without permission isn’t something new for police to deal with, but getting as far as the group did is a rare occurrence, Curtis said.”They don’t usually make it out of town,” Curtis said. “But these kids did.”
