The tank of a fertilizer company’s truck ruptured in Richmond, Utah, causing the road to be temporarily closed Thursday morning. The spill happened on SR-91 between Main Street and 100 North in Richmond around 10:15 a.m. June 3. Traffic was diverted while police and fire personnel handled clean up.The fire department contained the spill to keep it out of the sewer drains until it was identified as a mild fertilizer for field crops. At this point, the Richmond Fire Department sprayed the road with water in order to dilute the fertilizer and keep it off the road. Clean up took a total of 30 minutes and the road was reopened immediately.
