B-17 bomber highlights airport open house

There will be something exciting for all ages at the fourth annual Logan-Cache Airport Open House which will be held Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5. The event will open Friday at 3 p.m. when former U.S. Senator and Astronaut Jake Garn speaks at the Utah State University hangar. Garn will pay special tribute to his father who was a Logan airport aviator. A dinner catered by Iron Gate Grill will start Friday at 7 p.m. and it also includes live music and dancing. A World War II B-17 bomber “The Flying Fortress” will be on view Friday, and on Saturday attendees can discover aviation history with the Commemorative Air Force. .The open house includes airplane rides, door prizes, and demonstrations by Life Flight and Mountain Ridge Helicopters, plus a survival class by Leading Edge Aviation.
