Millville celebrates sesquicentennial

Millville will be celebrating a sesquicentennial this year at Old Mill Day June 12. A quilt representing Millville’s history will be on display at the City Office, 510 E. 300 South. Several women created the quilt. The center square represents old Millville, there are several squares representing the farming community and the quilt is bordered with different things that represent the local community. The following is a list of activities going on June 12: 7:45 a.m. – Sunrise Service, Millville City Office 8 a.m. – Fun Run, Millville City Office 11 a.m. – Sesquicentennial Parade, runs along Main Street starting at 450 North and ending at 300 South 2-4 p.m. – Living History Walking Tour – guests can park at the school on 100 South and Main St. Maps will be handed out and guests can take a tour of Millville and hear its history from people who lived it. 5 p.m. – Old Mill Games, City Park 6 p.m. – Dinner 7 p.m. – Evening Program 8 p.m. – Lowering of the flag 9 p.m. – Live music and dancing, City Park pavilion
