5K run/walk in Bear Lake aims to raise funds for cancer research

Everyone’s invited to participate in the first-ever Bear Lake 5K walk/run for Cancer coming up this Saturday, June 19 and Steve Evans of the Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce says it’s a great time to enjoy the beauty of Bear Lake and participate in a great cause at the same time. Evans says registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk itself begins at 9 a.m. at the public parking lot at 50 South and 100 West. “The registration costs, again that will all be donated, is $30 per participant,” Evans says. “The first 500 will get a t-shirt, an event t-shirt. And they are looking for volunteers for anybody looking for extra donations. “So again, go to the website bearlake.org, probably the best place to go and you’ll be able to find the event and any contact information that you have.” Evans says all of the proceeds will go to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation for patient care.
