Corroon wants to get back to basics with jobs

Salt Lake County Mayor and Democratic candidate for Utah Governor, Peter Corroon, says he wants to be the “Jobs Governor.” Corroon unveiled his economic plan last week saying his back-to-basics approach will help create jobs immediately. On KVNU’s For the People program Monday night Corroon listed off what the state needs to focus on, the backbone of what creates a strong economy.”That’s a strong education system,” he said. “That’s good road mass transit infrastructure. It’s having good broadband infrastructure, as well. “I think also the government can be involved in incentivizing certain industries where there are good-paying jobs, giving some cuts there but, at the same time, not incentivizing businesses that really are sometimes a drain on our economy with low-paying jobs.”Corroon says we should have minimal regulations but it is important to enforce the regulations we have.
