As the final tents and other fixtures were cleared from the lawn of the Logan Tabernacle Monday morning, Summerfest’s executive director, Marianne Sidwell, reflected on one of the most successful art events in the community’s history. “From my point of view it went awesome,” Sidwell said. “There were a lot of visitors.” Sidwell said Summerfest organizers were estimating about 50,000 people attended the three-day art fair Thursday through Saturday. The weather was almost perfect (“We were very happy about that,” Sidwell said) and most artists went home happy with the amount of their work that sold. Sidwell said it was interesting because she walked around to speak with all the vendors on Friday morning, and many were discouraged that they were going to sell much. When she visited with vendors again on Saturday, however, most were thrilled. “It seems that (Cache Valley) likes to go in Thursday and Friday, look, wait and then think, and then on Saturday they buy,” Sidwell said.
