Logan police release statement on finding of missing girl

An 8-year-old girl who was being sought by the Logan Police Department was found Wednesday afternoon.The girl had been reported missing since about 9 a.m. from an area on near 250 S. 200 East. She was reported found just after 3 p.m.On Wednesday, the Logan Police Department released this statement:Logan City Police responded to the area of 250 South 200 East on the call of an 8 year old female that had been missing for approximately 3 hours. Officers arrived at the residence and began a search of the home and the exterior of the house. She was not located at the residence or the immediate surrounding area. More resources from several agencies including USU Police, Cache County Sheriff (Deputies, SWAT, Search and Rescue), Logan Fire, Cache County Fire District and Cache County Attorney Office were brought in to expand the search area ability. Air support was also provided by a local helicopter company to search the water ways near the last known location of the child.Officers began going door to door in the area of the neighborhood in an effort to try and locate the missing child. Officers received information that led them to the Heritage Center out on US 89/91 near Wellsville where the missing child was located nearly 6 hours after her disappearance.Quote:Assistant Logan Police Chief Jeff Curtis:This is the outcome we hope for any time children are reported missing. It is always rewarding when we are able to find these children and re-unite them with their concerned family.
