The Gallery Walk is the first event that follows the merger of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts and the Alliance for the Varied Arts—which has closed its office in the Thatcher-Young Mansion and retired its name. The valuable arts programming that the AVA featured in the past is now under the administration of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, including the Gallery Walk in historic downtown Logan. Continuing a long-standing tradition, July’s Gallery Walk will feature the work of local artists, much of which will be for sale. The walk, taking place July 9 from 6-9 p.m., will also feature live music and free Street Dance in the middle of Church Street thanks to support from a Logan City Cultural Arts Grant. The band is a lively, family-friendly group called the Raindogs.Maps of the Gallery Walk route can be found at the participating businesses: Cache Valley Center for the Arts, Fuhrimans Framing, the Art Center, Caffe Ibis, Global Village Gifts, S. E. Needham Jewelers, The Studio at S Designs, Utah Public Radio, Iron Gate Grill, and the Logan Arthouse. The Gallery Walk is free and open to the public. Some art work will be available for purchase. The next Gallery Walks will be held September 17 and December 3.
