The third annual Summer Speaker Series, sponsored by the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, will be held Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. in the Cache Historic Court House.Series organizer Mike Bullock says the speaker will be Ann Torrence, author of ‘U.S. Highway 89: The Scenic Route to Seven Western National Parks.'”A lot of people don’t realize what a scenic highway that is,” Bullock said on KVNU’s Crosstalk Show Tuesday. “Everybody knows it comes through Logan and Cache Valley and Logan Canyon, but it extends from the Mexican border to the Canadian border and goes through or past seven national parks. “It’s really probably the most scenic highway in the country. She’s got a beautiful book that’s full of great photography. She’s going to do a slide show about the history of the highway and also do a book signing, of course.” Bullock said the next speaker will be Darrin Smith, author of ‘Logan Reflections: Photographs Then, Now and Between’ on July 14. Bullock says the public is invited to attend the interesting presentations and there is no charge.
