Tourism is reportedly off to a good start in Cache Valley. The Cache Valley Visitor’s Bureau Executive Director, Julie Hollist, says it’s been like a zoo in her office this summer. “We’ve got steady streams of people in the door every day and they’re coming from all over the world,” Hollist said on KVNU’s Crosstalk Show Tuesday. “We’re excited to see more people,” she continued, “and it seems like, as far as things we’ve seen in the trends in the past year or so, we’re bouncing back and seeing more visitors than we’ve had last year or the year before. So we’re excited about those initial, positive responses and more traffic we’re seeing.” Hollist said so far this year’s visitors have come from 44 different states and 23 different countries. She says they are most interested in spending some time in the local canyons and enjoying such events as last weekend’s Cruise-In and the Utah Festival Opera season which opens this week.
