LOGAN, Utah (AP) – What says Logan? That’s what city leaders are considering as they make plans for a new “welcome-to-town” monument for the community’s south end. The city will soon seek designs for the marker, which will be located on U.S. 91 near a city golf course. Community Development Director Jay Nielson says the city’s message should be timeless and something that transcends transitions. Nielson says the project is long overdue. He says the city has never had a permanent marker or welcome sign. Nielson says past city leaders had considered erecting a permanent marker, but never saw the project through. He says markers for the north, west and east entrances to town are not planned.
