Sir Paul McCartney sang and played his first-ever concert in Utah at the Rio Tinto Stadium July 13. McCartney was met by the screams and cheers of almost 25,000 fans. The historic show, which was sold out, was part of his 2010 Up and Coming Tour. McCartney payed songs from the Beatles days, such as “Hey Jude” and “I’ve Just Seen a Face” to “Jet” from his days with Wings. John Lennon and George Harrison, members of the Beatles who have passed on, were honored at Tuesday’s concert with a song for each and cheering from the audience. The concert featured three hours of McCartney, including two encores.
