Two North Logan scouts fall down cliff at Tony Grove Lake

Two 15-year old boys from a North Logan scout troop are recovering today after they fell down a steep mountainside while hiking Tuesday near Tony Grove Lake. Cache County Sheriff Lt. Chad Jensen says Sheriff’s deputies, Search and Rescue, and Logan Fire responded to the call. While enroute, emergency responders were flagged down by a vehicle transporting the victims to the hospital. A Sheriff’s press release states the victims said they were hiking and decided to leave the trail to descend some cliffs. They said they hit loose gravel and slid off a 30-foot cliff. The fall was not a free fall, but they rolled and tumbled down the face. The report states the victims suffered bruising, scratches and scrapes. One of the boys sustained a possible broken foot or ankle, while the other victim received a severe laceration to his knee which required stitches.
