LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A proposed land deal may soon transform a vacant parcel of city land into an off-leash park for Logan’s canine residents.Logan Mayor Randy Watts says he’s agreed to lease the Cache Humane Society (CHS) half of a 10-acre parcel of city land adjacent to the organization’s animal shelter.Watts says the deal only hinges on development plans the city wants to see before signing a lease agreement. The mayor says the full 10 acres might someday be leased. The land is near city wastewater pools and has limited development potential.CHS Director Michael Bishop confirmed the negotiations. He says CHS needs $250,000 for a basic park and $750,000 for one that has lighting, restrooms and fancy features like a pond, a puppy-only area and an agility course.
