Utah State Volleyball to Hold Mother/Daughter Skills Clinic

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State’s head volleyball coach Grayson DuBose and members of the 2010 volleyball team will be holding a free skills clinic on Saturday, Aug. 14. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The clinic will run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.The clinic, which is for children under the age of 14 and adults who are at least 18, will focus on basic volleyball technique as well as providing up-to-date information on rule changes in the collegiate game.Utah State returns seven starters and 11 letterwinners from last year’s team that went 15-14 overall and finished in seventh-place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 6-10 league record. Among those returning for USU is senior setter Chelsea Fowles, senior middle blockers Katie Astle, Shantell Durrant and Danielle Taylor, senior libero Christine Morrill, and junior outside hitters Emily Kortsen and Liz McArthur. McArthur was named second-team all-WAC in 2009, while Astle, Fowles and Morrill all earned second-team all-WAC honors in 2008, and Taylor was named second-team all-WAC in 2007.
