Search teams rescue 2 men from Bear Lake waters

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two Utah men have been hospitalized after jumping from a disabled boat and spending several hours floating in Bear Lake.In a news release, the Rich County sheriff’s office says Idaho State Parks officials reported the men missing after towing an abandoned boat to shore around 8 p.m. Saturday.Officials believe the men had abandoned the boat at about 5 p.m.Rescue teams located one of the men in the water at 10:25 p.m. He was treated at the Bear Lake Marina and transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center by helicopter.The second man was found about 40 minutes later, aiding his own rescue by blowing a whistle on his life jacket. He was taken to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance.Both men are 25-years-old. Their names were not immediately released.
