Drive to replenish foster care resource center

Not only is Jan Llewellyn raising her own two children, she has also been a foster mother and coordinator of the Cache Valley Foster Care Resource Center.Llewellyn says grant money has been drying up because of the recession and a drive is underway to replenish the resource center.”It’s a place for foster families to go and get things for their foster children such as clothing, furniture, personal toileteries, things like that,” Llewellyn says. “A lot of times when kids come into care, they come pretty much with just what they have on their backs. So it’s nice for the foster families to have a place to go to right away to get something for the kids.”On KVNU’s Crosstalk show, Llewellyn said a drive is underway all this month where the public is invited to drop off donated items at Lee’s Marketplace in Logan, the Logan Library and The Division of Child and Family Services at 115 West Golf Course Road in Logan. There is a miniature golf tournament on Saturday, August 28 at the Renegade Sports Complex, formerly the Celebration Center, south of Logan.
