LOGAN, Utah Utah State¹s volleyball team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage on Wednesday, August 25 at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum and the scrimmage is open to the public. Following the scrimmage, Aggie players will be available for autographs. Fifth-year head coach Grayson DuBose welcomes back all seven starters and 10 letterwinners from last year’s team that finished 15-14 on the season and in seventh-place in the WAC with a 6-10 league mark.Utah State returns five players who have earned all-WAC honors during their careers as seniors Katie Astle (MB), Chelsea Fowles (S) and Christine Morrill (LIB) all earned second-team all-WAC honors in 2008, while junior Emily Kortsen (OPP) was named to the league’s all-freshman team that year. Junior Liz McArthur (OH) was the only Aggie to be honored in 2009 as she earned second-team all-WAC honors.Utah State, who is picked to finish fourth in the WAC this season according to the league’s coaches, opens the 2010 campaign with a pair of matches on Aug. 28 against UC Davis and Utah in a tournament hosted by the Utes. USU’s first home match of the season will be against in-state rival Weber State on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. -USU-
