The third annual Guns ‘N Hoses Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, September 11 at the Willow Park Quadraplex. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Child and Family Support Center. Center Director Esterlee Molyneux says Logan City Police will be out to defend its two-time championship against the Cache County Sheriffs Office, Smithfield Fire Department, Logan Fire Department Cache County Fire District and the Center itself. This year the fundraiser falls on the anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks and Molyneux says there will be a special recognition ceremony. “Every participating team has so very graciously brought us a CD of pictures with all of them in action,” Molyneux explained on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday. “Wonderful photographs. We’re putting them on a DVD with some patriotic music in the background. “It will absolutely be a real tearjerker. But it just really helps us all to realize the dedication, the hard work, the sacrifice that these men and women in our community make for every single one of us on a daily basis.” Molyneux says admission is free. There will be food and entertainment for families and all proceeds will go to help the Child and Family Support Center fill its mission of strengthening families and protecting children.
