Utah State’s Student-Athlete Academic Hall Of Honor Grand Opening Set For Saturday, Sept. 18

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University’s Athletics Department will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening for its newly completed Dr. Randall and Julianne Stockham Student-Athlete Academic Hall of Honor on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m., prior to USU’s football game against Fresno State, which begins at 6 p.m. The Stockham Student-Athlete Academic Hall of Honor is located on the third floor of the Jim and Carol Laub Athletics-Academics Complex, which is located in the north end zone of Romney Stadium. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is open to the public, while football game-day parking fees will be charged in the stadium lots. “In the same way our Aggie Sports Hall of Honor celebrates the tremendous past accomplishments on the fields and courts, our new Academic Hall of Honor pays tribute to the significant academic accomplishments of our past student-athletes as well as the achievements of our current student-athletes,” said USU Director of Athletics Scott Barnes. “We are so thankful for Randy and Julie Stockham’s generous contribution which allowed us to make this initiative happen. As a two-time Academic All-American, Randy is no stranger to high academic achievement,” Barnes added. Inside the Stockham Student-Athlete Academic Hall of Honor are four permanent displays to feature CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award winners, current academic all-WAC honorees and current Aggie Athletics Endowed Scholarships donors and recipients. -USU-
