American Festival Chorus to perform the Choral Music of Mack Wilberg

Tickets are now on sale for the Choral Music of Mack Wilberg, a performance by the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra. The concert is scheduled for October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kent Concert Hall of the Utah State University Chase Fine Arts Center.Craig Jessop, music director of the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra and Dean of the Caine College of the Arts at USU, says in his opinion Mack Wilberg is one of the pre-eminent choral composers and arrangers in America today. The October 9 performance includes a potpourri of Wilberg’s arrangents and original compositions with American folk tunes, hymns and even Christmas songs. Jessop says a highlight is Atlantic Bridge, a piece Wilberg wrote for the King’s Singers, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Utah Symphony Orchestra for the 1997 Tanner Gift of Music. Jessop premiered the work when he was the associate director of the Tabernacle Choir. For ticket information call 797-8022
