Family day for military kids

Logan’s Willow Park Saturday is the site of “Operation Military Kids” with all military families invited to enjoy a day of family activities. Coordinating the event is Katrina Rhinehart, Family Assistance Center Coordinator with the Utah National Guard. “This is for all branches of the military, their families and their children. “A group called ‘Our Military Kids’ is affiliated with 4H and they will be there and have offered to do a family day for our military kids. They will have different activities throughout the day.” “Our Military Kids” operates through Utah State University Cooperative Education. “We had our first Christmas party last year and had a pretty good turnout for that and we’re working to reach out to more families to let them know of this event and of the different resources we have available to them. It’s a chance to have them get involved with other military families.” Rhinehart said the event, at the West Rotary Pavilion at Logan’s Willow Park, runs from 10 am-2 pm. She is requesting families let her know by Wednesday (Sept. 22) if they plan to attend in order to provide sufficient resources for all who will attend. She said a lunch would be provided. Rhinehart has more information at 435-753-3155.
