Aggie Golfers Finish In 10th-Place At Falcon Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State’s Tyson McFarland shot a final round 75 to tie for 15th-place with a two-over 218 at the 42nd annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational held here Sunday and Monday. As a team, Utah State finished in 10th-place with a 29-over 893 (304-291-298) out of 18 teams. Colorado-Colorado Springs maintained its day one lead and won the tournament title with a three-under 861 (280-293-288), while Colorado State’s Ryan Peterson took medalist honors with a nine-under 207 (69-68-70). McFarland, a senior from Rexburg, Idaho, fired a two-under 70 during his first round and then shot a one-over 73 in his second round before carding a three-over 75 Monday. Senior Chanse Godderidge (Smithfield, Utah) finished tied for 39th with an eight-over 224 (72-78-74), while sophomore Austin French (Idaho Falls, Idaho) finished in 75th-place with a 15-over 231 (80-70-81). Sophomore Brendan Dennis (Roosevelt, Utah) had the low round of the day for the Aggies with a one-over 73 Monday as he finished tied for 83rd with a 17-over 233 (82-78-73). Senior Benjamin Schilleman (Layton, Utah) was tied for 43rd after the first day of competition as he carded rounds of 79 and 70 for a five-over 149, but was later disqualified for dropping in an illegal area during his first round. Schilleman finished the tournament by shooting a four-over 76 during his final 18 holes.
