Tickets for couples who want to compete cost $20, and single tickets for the general dance floor are $5 each. The contest is open to students and anyone in the community, said Jordan Garner of Sigma Chi.The dance marathon, put on as part of Business Week at USU, is a benefit for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.Skyler Jenks, USU business senator, said, “It’s a great way to give back to Mr. Huntsman for everything he’s given to us.”Though this is the dance competition’s first year, Jenks hopes it will be successful enough to become a recurring event. The contest is not about talent, Garner said. Contestants win the dance marathon by dancing the longest.Garner said, “As long as you can keep moving and shake your hips around, you’re good.”Dancers can register at the Taggart Student Center on campus or at the Fieldhouse door Friday night.- [email protected]
