Andersen to keep coaching through neck injury

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Utah State says Gary Andersen will still be coaching the Aggies this week despite a neck injury that caused a trip to the emergency room. Team physician Dr. Trek Lyons says Andersen injured his neck when he got up too quickly and fell Monday at his home. Lyons said in a release Tuesday that Andersen will be fine, but a neck injury to the 46-year-old coach was more worrisome because of the physical strain from Andersen’s days as a center at Utah and Ricks College. Andersen was out of the Logan Regional Hospital emergency room by late Monday morning and well enough to make an appearance at practice that afternoon. Lyons says Andersen will wear a neck brace as a precaution.
