BOISE, Idaho – Sophomore Sven Poslusny and senior Bryan Marchant won the blue doubles flight title on Sunday, highlighting Utah State’s final day of action at the 2010 Boise State Fall Tennis Classic held at Boise State’s Appleton Tennis Center and Julia Davis Park. The tournament, which ran from Friday through Sunday, was comprised of orange, blue and open single flights and orange, blue and open doubles flights with consolation rounds for each singles and doubles flights.Poslusny and Marchant took the first-place title in the blue doubles flight after defeating Idaho’s Lachlan Reed and Abid Akbar, 8-5, and Air Force’s Lance Wilhelm and Andy Jackson, 8-6, in the semifinal and final rounds, respectively. With the wins, Poslusny and Marchant improved to a perfect 4-0 doubles record this season. Senior Jakob Asplund advanced to the final day of competition, falling to Utah’s Dmytro Mamedov, 6-3, 7-5, in the singles blue flight consolation semifinals. Asplund is now 4-3 in tournament action this fall. The Aggies continue tournament action with the Utah Invitational in Salt Lake City.
