Annual sauerkraut festival has grown to include classic cars in Providence

Providence City’s annual Sauerkraut Dinner and Bazaar will be held Friday, Oct. 22 at Springcreek Middle School, 350 W. 100 North in Providence. The dinner will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. featuring a traditional turkey dinner. The cost is $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Patrons can also choose between the traditional turkey dinner and a hot dog meal , which costs $3 in advance, $4 at the door. Craft booths, free children’s games, caricature drawings and balloons will be available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Providence City Offices, 15 S Main, until Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone with a credit card then picked up at willcall the night of the event by calling (435) 752-9441 ext. 14. All are invited to enjoy a family evening having dinner, Christmas shopping, playing games, visiting with old friends and making new ones. Providence and Her People, Volumn 3 will be available for purchase at the event. In conjunction with Providence City’s annual turkey dinner, the city will also be hosting their 3rd annual Car Show Saturday, Oct. 23 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on the field east of Spring Creek Middle School. There is still time to register cars for this event. Mountain Crest Marching Band will be cooking up food as a fundraiser to support them attending the Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. in July 2011.
