Bowen believes Congress, including Bishop, influenced too much by donors

First District Democratic Congressional candidate Morgan Bowen says we need people in Washington, D.C. that are not bought and paid for by special interests. The Seminary teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Hyde Park made that comment Saturday at a Cache County Democratic Party town hall meeting at Merlin Olsen Park. “Bishop’s no different,” Bowen contends, referring to incumbent 1st District Congressman Republican Rob Bishop. “He has his people that put in behind him and he basically backs their issues because they’re major corporate interests, in the state and out of the state. “I think we need to have a Congress that can make decisions that are independent of that. I think that moneyed influence is something we need to change.” Gubernatorial candidate Peter Corroon also attended the town hall meeting.
