Former Logan fire chief waives right to preliminary hearing

Former Logan fire chief Kyle Lindsay waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday and a plea of not guilty was entered before Judge Thomas Willmore.Lindsay, a Smithfield resident, is faced with five felony charges including falsely obtaining prescription medications and burglary. Police began an investigation into Lindsay’s alleged pain medication abuse and Lindsay resigned as fire chief Aug. 4 after being on the job less than two months.A pre-trial hearing has been set for Nov. 30.
