DUI checkpoint nets 17 arrests, 38 citations

A traffic checkpoint that affected more than 300 drivers on Logan’s Main Street from 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 until 2 a.m. Sunday has been called very successful by Assistant Logan Police Chief Jeff Curtis.The checkpoint was conducted in the area of 514 South Main and police arrested a total of 17 people, issued 38 various citations and issued 52 verbal warnings. Two K-9 officers assisted and helped to apprehend three motorists believed to be in possession of drugs. There were four DUI arrests and seven youth alcohol arrests.
