Mothers gathering to learn from each other, know they’re not alone

The theme for the American Mothers of Cache Valley 21st annual Mothers Mini Conference this year is Apron Strings: The Ties That Bind. The inter-faith, non-profit, non-political group is holding its annual conference Saturday, November 6. This year it will be held at a new location, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1000 East on 800 South. Co-chair Dianne Weiss, who has been a member of American Mothers since its local beginning, says the conference starts at 8:45 a.m. with a variety of displays that include one on “Filling your Apron with Thanks” and another on “Angels in Aprons.””We also have a wonderful keynote speaker coming from Salt Lake (City), Cheryl Lant,” Weiss says. “She was the previous (General) Primary President for the LDS Church. She will do a wonderful job. We have workshops following her.”Weiss says American Mothers is there to let all mothers know they are not alone but she says everyone is invited to the conference, not just members of the organization. Workshops run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
