The Greater Smithfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 4th annual Night of Giving on Saturday, November 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sky View High School. Chamber President Gary Fox says this year more than 27 trees and wreaths have been donated by local businesses and citizens that will be auctioned off.”We have a formal dinner catered by Culinary Concepts of Smithfield, a prime rib dinner,” Fox said on KVNU’s Crosstalk Show Monday. “That’s what the tickets are for. You buy a ticket, you come and have dinner before the auction, you walk around and look at the trees. “If you don’t have time for dinner, come look at the trees and bid on of the trees anyway.”Tickets are $25 each or $45 per couple and all of the proceeds go to families in the community needing help this Christmas. A raffle tree, designed by Sugar and Spice, will also be displayed at Lee’s Marketplace in Smithfield and the Smithfield Recreation Center. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. During the evening a “Business of the Year” award will be presented. Fox says more than 50 families were helped last Christmas from the Night of Giving.
